The Youth Empowerment Project Los Angeles (YEPLA) has been established to help underperforming public schools serving low-income communities in Los Angeles County to obtain additional resources and funds for student-centered projects that have otherwise not come to fruition. The project was created to address some of the immense areas of need for students attending these schools. Beyond the standard funds received by federal, state and local agencies, YEPLA seeks to tap into the myriad of other potential supplemental funding sources available to L.A. County schools through the public and private sectors by means of the solicitation of specific grants and miscellaneous donations.
